Photo: New Giant Clam Found; May Have Fed Early Humans



Overharvesting more than a hundred thousand years ago of a newly identified giant clam species, Tridacna costata—seen here on the Egyptian Red Sea coast—may have helped force the early human migration out of Africa, according to a study published in August 2008.
