Photo: Bright, White Future for "Green" LEDs, Scientist Says



Holiday decorations at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch in New York City's Prospect Park in December 2006 made use of about 600,000 light-emitting diodes (LEDs). Recent advances in LED design and materials may soon allow the small, energy-efficient lights to revolutionize the ways people illuminate the world.
