On May 1, 2008, Typhoon Nargis—which would soon become a devastating cyclone—hovered over the Bay of Bengal.

Heavy rains and another potentially powerful storm headed toward Myanmar (Burma)'s cyclone-devastated delta on Wednesday, raising fears of a worsening humanitarian crisis.
