Photo: Worst Drought in a Century Hurting Australian Farmers

A farmer sows his winter crop near Woodstock, Australia, about 155 miles (250 kilometers) west of Sydney, on May 3, 2007.

In the country's seventh year of a crippling drought, many farmers faced with withering crops are walking away from their land.

Those who have stayed saw earnings dive an average of 70 percent in 2006 due to drought-related losses.
