Photo: Hurricane Season May Fizzle Further Due to El Nino



A tropical depression imaged this morning has since strengthened into Florence, the sixth tropical storm of the Atlantic hurricane season.

Forecasters at Colorado State University have for the second time downgraded the number of hurricanes they think will form this season—this time because they believe a weather phenomenon known as El Niño may suppress storm creation.
