Photo: Earth, Mars, Moon Have Different Origin, Study Says



Scientists studying Martian meteorites similar to this rock—once believed to show evidence of extraterrestrial life—have discovered an unusual abundance of a rare element.

The find, along with previous data from Earth and its moon, suggests that the inner solar system formed from different materials than the outer planets.
