Photo: Monkey Embryos Cloned, Scientists Report

Two rhesus monkeys—born of DNA taken from cells of developing monkey embryos—huddle together at a research center in Oregon in 1997.

Scientists reported Wednesday that they had derived stem cells from cloned embryos from a nine-year-old male rhesus.
