Photo: Antarctic Melt Releasing DDT, Tainting Penguins



Researchers studying Adélie penguins in Antarctica, such as the ones seen above, have found higher than expected levels of the pesticide DDT in the birds' fat and eggs.

The scientists say that the pollutant is likely being released as glaciers melt due to climate change.
