Photo: Meteorites Brought DNA "Ancestors" to Earth, Study Says

A piece of the 4.5-billion-year-old Murchison meteorite is examined by University of Chicago researchers in an undated photo.

A new analysis of the meteorite by a London -based team found organic molecules in the meteorite that the team says probably could not have formed on Earth.

The discovery suggests some of the ingredients for life as we know it may have originated in space, experts say.
