Photo: Oil Spill in Black Sea Strait May Be Worst in YearsMassive waves split a Russian oil tanker into two pieces during a fierce storm this weekend, spilling at least 2,000 metric tons (560,000 gallons) of fuel into the sea. The 8-meter (18-foot) waves also sank two Russian freighters nearby. Those ships together carried about 6,500 metric tons of sulfur, according to Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry.
