Photo: Fungi Gobble Radiation to Grow, Study Says



Radiation-eating fungi, such as this black fungus Wangiella dermatitidis, have been found to thrive on a radiation diet. Scientists say the fungi may convert radiation to energy in a process similar to photosynthesis in plants.
