A saltwater crocodile prowls a beach in Queensland state, Australia.

Some 36,000 "salties" inhabit the Darwin Crocodile Farm in the neighboring Northwest Territory state. Beginning in 2006, the farm is teaching prisoners how to handle farm-raised crocs as part of the state government's job-training efforts for inmates.
