Photo: Largest Spitting Cobra Found -- New Species



This snake is not only the newest of the spitting cobra family—it's also the biggest and the most venomous.

A recent blood and tissue analysis confirms long-held beliefs that the 9-foot-long (274-centimeter-long) Ashe's spitting cobra is its own species.
