Tourists encounter Galápagos sea lions on the island of Santa Fe in a file photo.

More than 50 sea lions have been found bludgeoned to death on the uninhabited island of Pinta, sending officials looking for clues and sparking calls for tougher controls on tourism and immigration to the islands made famous by Charles Darwin.
