Photo: Greenland Ice Shows Rapid Climate Flips, Study Says

Researchers bored out a long cylinder of ice near the main dome of the North Greenland Ice Core Project (pictured), capturing records of past climates stretching back tens of thousands of years.

Their study will appear in the June 20, 2008 online edition of the journal Science.
