Photo: Congo Rebels Agree to End Gorilla Slaughter



The head of Karema, a silverback mountain gorilla, was among the evidence that rebel troops in the Democratic Republic of Congo had butchered two great apes earlier this month. The rebels recently vowed to stop the slaughter, in accordance with an agreement with local wildlife officials.
