Photo: Amphibian Bacteria Fights Off Deadly Fungus, Study Says



Some species of amphibian, such as California's mountain yellow-legged frog, pictured above, rely on naturally-occuring bacteria to ward off a deadly fungus, a new study says.

Chytrid fungus has killed countless numbers of amphibians since it was first recognized as an epidemic in the late 1990s.
