Photo: Yeast Life Extended Ten Times; Offers Hope for Humans



Yeast cells lacking two specific genes and put on severe calorie restrictions (right) lived ten times longer than normal yeast cells (left), a new study says.

Scientists are now studying related mutations in a group of Ecuadorians that might offer hope for the treatment of some human diseases.
