Castaway opens wide at feeding time at the Marine Mammal Conservancy in Key Largo, Florida.

Because the pregnant bottlenose dolphin is deaf, she may not be able to teach her calf to communicate, so researchers are playing recordings of typical dolphin "speech" in Castaway's pen.
