Photo: Hurricane Alert Issued for Season's First Named Storm



An infrared image of tropical storm Alberto shows the intensity of the storm's water-vapor concentration. Alberto, the first named storm of the 2006 Atlantic hurricane season, soaked Cuba with nearly 2 feet (61 centimeters) of rain and is now on course to strike Florida late Tuesday, June 13, 2006, or early Wednesday, with as much as 10 inches (25 centimeters) of rain.
