Photo: Ebay Bans Ivory Sales Amid Conservation Concerns



Online sales are driving an increase in illegal trade in ivory, which is obtained by killing elephants like the African bull seen above, according to a report released in October 2008 by the International Fund for Animal Welfare.

In response to conservation pressures, U.S.-based online auction site eBay will ban all sales of ivory products on its Web site as of January 2009.
