Photo: Archivist Charged With Stealing Papers, Selling on eBay



Long-time New York State archivist Daniel Lorello faces up to 25 years in prison after being charged with stealing hundreds of historic artifacts and documents from the New York State Library and selling them off to help pay household bills.

The missing items include this signed 1823 letter from former Vice President John Calhoun, spotted on eBay and purchased by the New York State attorney general's office.
