Photo: "Tower Lions" May Help Resurrect Extinct African Breed?



A pair of lion skulls from the Tower of London's medieval Royal Menagerie belonged to a lion subspecies that is now extinct in the wild, scientists announced.

DNA studies show that the two big cats, both pictured above, are Barbary lions that originated in northwestern Africa.
