Photo: Stem Cells Discovered in Amniotic Fluid, Scientists Announce

Human embryonic stem cells like these can grow into many different kinds of human tissues, such as muscle cells or red blood cells.

Scientists have recently found stem cells with similar properties in the amniotic fluid that surrounds the embryo during pregnancy.
