A mountain gorilla rests in the Democratic Republic of the Congo's Virunga National Park on September 4, 2007. Rebels in eastern Congo have occupied part of a reserve built to protect rare mountain gorillas, putting the endangered primates in the crossfire of an escalating political and ethnic conflict, conservationists say.
