Photo: Food Bacteria More Drug-Resistant in U.S., Europe, Study Suggests



Antibiotics are often given to young chicks in the U.S. poultry industry to help stave off disease. A recent study suggests that use of antibiotics in U.S. livestock may have helped create more resistant strains of the bacteria that cause the most common food-borne illness.
