Photo: Hubble Revival Halted Due to Unforeseen Glitch



Remote repairs to the Hubble Space Telescope, seen above, were brought to a screeching halt on October 17, 2008, when engineers ran into an as-yet undisclosed glitch.

NASA engineers had been trying to revive the telescope after a data formatter, which sends information to Earth, failed in September and rendered Hubble virtually mute.
