Photo: Artificial Nose Could Sniff Out Bombs, Cancer



Humans can use their smell receptors to enjoy flowers; trained dogs use them to sniff out bombs. Now, smell receptors can be mass-produced in the lab—a discovery that could lead to artificial noses, according to a September 2008 study.
