Photo: Dike Along Huge Florida Lake Is Leaking

Herbert Hoover Dike, a 140-mile-long (225-kilometer-long) earthen barrier, holds back the waters of Florida's Lake Okeechobee.

The dike has begun to leak, prompting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to launch a years-long project to repair it.
