Photo: Ultrasmall Microbes Revived After 120,000 Years On Ice



Ultrasmall microbes trapped in glacial ice (above, a snowy landscape in Greenland's Baffin Bay) for 120,000 years have been coaxed back to life, experts said in June 2009.

The feat raises the possibility that long-dormant alien life on other frozen worlds could be resurrected.
