Photo: U.S. Tightens Smog Rules; Critics Say Not Enough

The U.S. government today announced new standards for the amount of ozone—a main ingredient of smog—allowed in the air.

Los Angeles County is among 85 U.S. counties that currently exceed ozone limits set a decade ago, the government said.
