Photo: 2008 Hurricane Season Will Be "Well Above Average"

Tropical Depression Dean slams southwestern Mexico with heavy rains on August 23, 2007.

The 2008 hurricane season will form at least four major storms similar to Dean, including one that may hit the eastern U.S., forecasters announced today.

The busy forecast continues a trend of above-average hurricane seasons that started in 1995.
