Photo: Ice Foiled Ancient Settlement of Britain Seven Times



An ancient stone tool found at the British archaeological site of Pakefield has been dated back to at least 700,000 years ago.

The humans who left the Pakefield artifacts were the first of at least seven separate human invasions of Britain that failed because of the return of icy weather, researchers say.
