Photo: Rhino Poaching Rise Spurs India to Deploy Armed Guards



A newborn, one-horned rhino stands with its mother inside the Kaziranga National Park, about 135 miles (220 kilometers) east of Gauhati, India.

On February 6, 2008, the government deployed armed guards to the reserve after the four of the endangered rhinos were killed by poachers this year alone.
