Photo: Comet Built Like an Asteroid, Scientists Find



Comet 81P/Wild 2—pictured here as the smaller sphere flying by the much larger planet Jupiter—is more "astroid-like" than previously thought, according to a study released on Thursday, January 24, 2008.

Ishii led a research team that found Wild 2 samples were made of inner solar system material—not outer solar system material as expected.
