Photo: Giant Deep-Sea Volcano With "Moat of Death" Found



Eels swim around corals on the west slope of a newly discovered deep-sea volcano in the South Pacific. Scientists were surprised to find an abundance of life at such a depth—about 700 meters (2,300 feet) below the ocean surface.
