Photo: Mass Plague Graves Found on Venice "Quarantine" Island

Some of the more than 1,500 plague victim bodies recently found on a small Venetian island are seen here.

Workers digging the foundation for a new museum came across the remains on Lazzaretto Vecchio, believed to be the world's first disease quarantine island.
