Photo: Global Warming "Tipping Points" Reached, Scientist Says

A NASA simulation shows areas that would be flooded (red) by a rise in sea levels of one meter (about three feet).

A prominent climatologist has said that Earth has already reached many "tipping points"—including the melting of large amounts of ice—and an immediate curb on fossil-fuel use is needed or humans risk reaching a "point of no return."
