Gandhi's great-granddaughter Neelam Parikh, 75, empties an urn containing the peace leader's ashes into the Arabian Sea in Mumbai (Bombay), India, on January 30, 2008.

The country remembered the 60th anniversary of Gandhi's assassination with his family scattering his remaining ashes into the sea and at the sacred confluence of the Ganges and Yamuna Rivers.
