Photo: "Never Forgetting" Helps Elephants Survive, Study Says

Scientists studying elephants in this area—which experienced a severe drought from 1958 to 1961—found that memories of drought remain with old female elephants and could help their clans survive during hard times, according to research published in August 2008.
