Photo: Odd Fossil Skeletons Show Both Apelike and Human Traits



A fossil femur, or thighbone, of an ancient human ancestor emerges from a dig in the republic of Georgia. Four fossil skeletons found at the site reveal features that are both apelike and humanlike, suggesting that the individuals were a primitive form of Homo erectus, scientists said.
