Photo: King Solomon's Mines Rediscovered?

This ancient copper mine in southern Jordan may have been the source of metal for a Jerusalem temple built by the Biblical figure of King Solomon, according to a new study.



Previous studies had concluded no copper production occurred in the area before the seventh century B.C. But new carbon dating pushes mining operations back to the tenth century B.C.
