This partial, approximately-true-color view of a full-circle panorama shows NASA's Phoenix Mars Lander and the ground at the landing area. NASA announced on July 31, 2008, that the craft had touched and analyzed liquid water on Mars—a feat never before accomplished outside of Earth.
