Photo: "Renegade" Stars Tearing Across Universe, Hubble Shows



Like the wakes of cosmic speedboats, oddly shaped bow shocks reveal young "renegade" stars careening through the universe at more than 112,000 miles (180,250 kilometers) an hour.

The images seen above are 4 of 14 stellar interlopers recently captured by Hubble Space Telescope, astronomers announced in January 2009.
