Photo: Forensics, Archaeology Techniques Used in MIA Search



Members of the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command sift through soil at an excavation site in the Korean Demilitarized Zone, searching for the remains of soldiers who went missing in action during the Korean War.

The team, led by a civilian forensics expert and a Marine Corps captain, used advanced crime scene and archaeological techniques to search for the remains of lost military personnel.
