Photo: First Ever Brain "Atlas" Completed



Scientists announced that they have completed a genetic map of the mouse brain, which they hope will reveal new insights into brain function and disease.

All the data from the Allen Brain Atlas is freely available online, as are powerful applications for sifting through the enormous amounts of information. Here a view from one of those applications shows a cutaway view of a three-dimensional brain model.
