Photo: Ancient City Found in Mexico; Shows Olmec Influence

Archaeologist Victor Manuel Castro Mendoza holds a stone, believed to be a sculpture of an animal, found at the recently discovered ancient city of Zazacatla in Mexico. The 2,500-year-old city shows signs of influence from the ancient Olmec civilization, whose main territory was hundreds of miles away on the Gulf coast.
