Photo: Methane Belches in Lakes Supercharge Global Warming, Study Says



Methane bubbles are trapped in the ice covering a Siberian lake in early fall. The trapped bubbles allowed scientists to take what they believe is a more accurate measure of the amount of the potent greenhouse gas being released by these lakes.
