Photo: Dwarf Planet Fight Yields Contentious New Name



An artist's concept shows the dwarf planet Haumea, named for a Hawaiian goddess of fertility, and its two moons.

The object, formerly known as 2003 EL61, became the last of the officially recognized dwarf planets to get a name on September 17, 2008.
