Photo: Europe's Largest Minority Gaining Recognition, Expert Says



A group of Roma, sometimes mistakenly called Gypsies, celebrates the feast of Saint Gregory in Bistrita, Romania. A leading scholar of the ethnic group—which comprises Europe's largest minority—says that after centuries of discrimination, the Roma are making slow but steady progress toward attaining equal rights.
